Join Hands with Indian Children NGO and be a Part of Many Young Dreams

Dreams know no boundaries and a determined heart and mind knows how to achieve even the most challenging dream. A dream of becoming a Rocket Scientist can come only from a child who is either inspired by a renowned scientist or who has an inclination towards achieving high in life. For 13 year old Nagaraj B, both the factors have equal importance when it comes to his dream of becoming a Rocket Scientist.

Nagaraj B is a student of 8th Grade studying in Government Primary and High School, Palace Guttahalli, Bangalore. His father is a tailor and mother works as a helper in garment factory. He has a younger sister studying 4th Grade in the same school. Being the elder brother he helps his sister with her studies. He aspires high and wants to help his family when he grows up.

Aspirations of every child are special and have unique reasons behind it; and the same holds true for Nagaraj  too. Interestingly, Former President of India and a renowned Scientist Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam plays a very significant role in Nagaraj’s aspiration. Nagaraj became aware of Kalam and his noted works during a Science Exhibition. The contribution of Kalam in the field of science was a real source of inspiration for Nagaraj. This incidence made Nagaraj a young aspirant of Rocket Science. His teachers say that Nagaraj is an obedient, well mannered, regular and sincere student.

Akshaya Patra feels gratified that it is able to feed children like Nagaraj.  Nagaraj understands the importance of vegetables and nutritious meals and he highly appreciates Akshaya Patra’s mid-day meal. He says, “Akshaya Patra food is very good and healthy.” As he comes from a humble background his family cannot afford to provide such nutritious food and hence Nagaraj says that “Akshaya Patra meal becomes beneficial for him and other students like me.” It is evident that when a child eats healthy he or she is able to think healthy and in a determined manner.

The Akshaya Patra Foundation is currently serving mid-day meal to 1.3 million children in India by implementing mid-day meal in Government schools and Government-aided schools. It is operating in 19 locations across 9 Indian states. It is the dreams and aspirations of these young children like Nagaraj that drive Akshaya Patra to reach out to more and more children in need. Nagaraj’s parents and teachers are confident that he will achieve dreams. You too can help many children like Nagaraj to realize their dreams. Join hands with Akshaya Patra and contribute towards feeding more and more children. Your contribution will help us to better the lives of many children.
