Contribute to Akshaya Patra for tax deductible donations

As the dates for filing income tax nears, so does the search for different ways of availing tax deductible donations.  The well known Indian NGO, The Akshaya Patra Foundation gives its donors the provision of availing tax deductible donations for all donations above Rs. 500. Any contribution above Rs. 500 is 100% exempted from tax under section 35AC of the Income Tax Act of the Government of India. Akshaya Patra Bellary conferred with CII National Award


The Akshaya Patra Foundation is a charitable trust implementing the mid-day meal programme in nine states covering more than 10,000 Government schools. Being in the service of providing meal to millions of children, this charitable trust is well aware of the hygiene, cleanliness and other food safety measures that need to be followed pre-cooking, cooking and post cooking stages. Feed children in Puri - Donate to The Akshaya Patra Foundation

The beneficiaries of Akshaya Patra mid-day meal in Puri counter the general perception of a remote region. More often than not, remote places are perceived as ‘not so civilised’ and backward areas. The Akshaya Patra Foundation wins the CII National Award for Food Safety 2013

The Akshaya Patra Foundation, Bellary Kitchen, has conferred the CII National Award for Food Safety 2013, for its holistic approach in establishing, running and managing efficiently the Food Safety and Quality Systems.  Mr. Shridhar Venkat, Executive Director, The Akshaya Patra Foundation, Sriman Suvyakta Narasimha Dasa, Unit Head – Vrindavan and Mr. Chetan D, Manager – Operations, Akshaya Patra Bellary, received the award in New Delhi.  Confederation of Indian Industry (CII-Jubilant Bhartia Food & Agriculture Centre of Excellence) in partnership with its stakeholders & knowledge partners had launched the first ever “the CII National Award for Food Safety “back in 2010.
