Support children. Volunteer for online fundraising
“Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just
have the heart.” - Elizabeth Andrew. Rightly so, it is the willingness and
compassion of volunteers that allows them to selflessly contribute their time
and skills to support NGOs.
The impact of such humane pool of supporters is so significant that it not only creates awareness about an NGO but also aids in receiving the much-needed funds. Hence, as an acknowledgement and encouragement, all NGOs across the globe provides a special platform for volunteer opportunities.
In line with this, The Akshaya Patra Foundation, a mid-day meal NGO in India also provides ample opportunities for supporters to get involved with its cause. Akshaya Patra is one of the oldest mid-day meal NGOs in India providing nutritious and wholesome school meals to more than 17.6-lakh children in 15,024 government schools located across 12 states.
It has been recognised as the world’s largest NGO-run school meal programme and is the first NGO to be inducted in ICAI’s Hall of Fame for excellence in financial reporting. Each day for the past 18 years, the Foundation has been striving towards its vision of ‘No child in India shall be deprived of education because of hunger’. And, during this journey thousands of supporters have extended their helping hand as volunteers and donors.

The Mid-Day Meal Programme has been a potential gamechanger in promoting health and education among children from underprivileged socio-economic backgrounds. For many children, this is the only plateful of meal they receive during the entire day. This meal has also proved to be an incentive for parents to end their children to school instead of sending them to work.
On the whole, Mid-Day Meal
has significantly contributed in:
Increasing enrolment of children;
Regularising school attendance;
Decreasing drop-out rate;
Improving health of children; and
Improving level of concentration and performance in academics and other school activities.
By conducting an online fundraising campaign, you introduce Akshaya Patra’s cause in your network
of people and garner their support. This step from you transforms the lives of
hundreds of children who are deserving and resolute and all they need is a
little care and help.
Act now. Be
