The Akshaya Patra Foundation, an NGO
in India, has launched a new initiative ‘Giving Every Dream a Chance’ to
support the dreams of its beneficiary children. In an attempt to create an
awareness programme about the initiative, their official radio partner 92.7 Big
FM hosted a talk show with The Foundation’s Chairman, Shri Madhu Pandit Dasa.
During the on-air interview with RJ
Shruthi and RJ Divya Shree, the Chairman gave an insight into the initiative on
why it is important to give every child’s dream a chance. Akshaya Patra’s
initiative is one of the latest
NGO events in India wherein the children will undergo a mentorship course
with an expertise from their field of interest. Here are a few excerpts of the
Chairman from the talk show hosted by 92.7 Big FM.
“We thought of connecting children to
something they admire – successful mentors in the society – who will mentor
them towards achieving their dreams. Because these children do not get
opportunities to get closer to their dream, Akshaya Patra has decided to ensure
their dreams are fulfilled.”
“What is more hopeful is there is no
cost to the initiative. It is all about reaching out successful mentors in the
society and then connecting the children to them. In the coming year, we want
to reach out to 100 children to help them recognize their dreams”
“The satisfaction they get after
having a meal is like a blessing. Through mid-day meal programme, we are
supporting a child’s education and through ‘Giving Every Dream a Chance,’ we
are supporting their career.”
