Among the latest NGO awards 2015, Akshaya Patra became the recipient of Asian MAKE Award. The Asian MAKE (Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise) award was presented at the CII National Knowledge Summit 2015 THAT was held in Bangalore. ‘Digital India’ was the theme of the summit.
The Asian MAKE award identifies organisations founded and headquartered in Asia which improves stakeholder value by utilising existing or new knowledge to provide better services and products. The winners for the award were adjudged by a panel of intellectuals from Asian-based Fortune Global 500 through a criteria based process of three rounds. Akshaya Patra was the only non-profit organisation to win Asian MAKE Award. Hindustan Unilever Limited, Infosys Limited, Tata Consultancy Services and Wipro Limited were some of the other Indian organisations to share space with Akshaya Patra in Asian MAKE Award.
