SBI and HPCL chooses Akshaya Patra for CSR opportunities

If you are looking for a cause to support as a part of your CSR opportunity, The Akshaya Patra Foundation will provide you a platform for the same. Recently, State Bank of India (SBI) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) each extended their support to Akshaya Patra by donating meal distribution vehicle to the Visakhapatnam unit of Akshaya Patra.

This valuable support came as a part of their Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. Currently, the Foundation is feeding more than 42,000 children in Andhra Pradesh. Overall it feeds 1.3 million children across 9 States of India covering more than 9000 Government schools, everyday.


Akshaya Patra was started in the year 2000 in Bangalore, Karnataka. It implements the mid-day meal programme and works in a Public-Private Partnership model. “No child in India shall be deprived of education because of hunger” is the vision of the Foundation. Working towards this vision the Foundation provides ‘unlimited food for education’. Apart from Government aid, it receives support from many valuable contributors and volunteers.

Seeing the enthusiasm of many corporate workers to engage themselves in activities for social change, Akshaya Patra has charted out many opportunities to fulfill their CSR opportunities.
