Donate to this Non profit organization in India and help us transform lives

The role of NGOs is to combat the problems being faced by the society. By gathering public support to a cause, they work toward finding a long-term, sustainable solution to the problems plaguing the growth and prosperity of the citizens. One such non profit organisation in India that works toward the welfare of the society and the development of children in particular is The Akshaya Patra Foundation. Feeding over 1.39 million children across India every school day with the nutritious mid-day meal, the organisation is well known for its effort to feed hungry child.

The non profit organisation in India now runs 22 kitchens across the country catering to 10,631 government schools. Fitting with the role of NGOs to provide solutions that look to the long term, this organisation focuses on maintaining high levels of quality control and hygiene across all its kitchens. The NGO relies on the donations of the public to achieve its mission of providing food for education to the children. A donation of just Rs 750 is enough to feed hungry child in India with the mid-day meal for a year.

With donations coming in from the Government of India, corporates and private donors, this non profit organisation in India hopes to realise its mission of feeding 5 million children by 2020. One role of NGOs is to also enlist public participation in the activities of the organisation. Akshaya Patra runs many campaigns, events and contests to raise funds and create awareness toward the cause.

To feed hungry child does not just result in a healthier body. Through the mid-day meal programme, this non profit organisation in India has also had impacts in other areas too, like dropout rates in schools have decreased while attendance, enrolment and concentration levels have increased. The role of NGOs is also to look beyond the obvious and provide solutions to the different levels of the problems as well. This organisation also provides mid-day meals to infants, pregnant and lactating mothers through Anganwadi centres to ensure that they receive the nutrition they need at this important stage of their lives.

This non profit organisation in India has the vision that no child in India shall be deprived of education because of hunger. This is the basis behind the noble work to feed hungry child in India. In a country racked with poverty, malnutrition and child labour, the role of NGOs like Akshaya Patra is to act as a catalyst between the cruel realities of life and an innocent child, and to provide them with a solution that can change their lives.

You can help be this change that transforms their lives. Donate and volunteer with The Akshaya Patra Foundation to create a better tomorrow for India's young children.
