Akshaya Patra’s mid-day meal for Agra Anganwadis




14 October 2014, Akshaya Patra inaugurated its mid-day meal feeding programme for Anganwadis in Agra.  Akshaya Patra will be serving mid-day meal to children aged between 3 years to 6 years across 675 Anganwadi centres. It will cover 508 Anganwadi centres in Agra city and 167 centres in Achenera.



Functioning as a Vrindavan NGO, Akshaya Patra will provide the mid-day meal to all these centres from its Vrindavan kitchen. A nutritious menu has been designed for the same and it includes poha, dalia and khichdi. Apart from this banana and milk will be served twice in a week to the children whereas suji halwa will be provided once a week. 

This initiative is one of the Akshaya Patra’s latest events and was inaugurated by the District Magistrate Pankaj Kumar along with Deendayal Prabhu, Dr. Pareekh and other dignitaries.
