Akshaya Patra Photo Exhibition: Wall of Hope and Joy

As an awareness initiative The Akshaya Patra Foundation-a Bangalore Children Charity recently organised a photography exhibition. The exhibition titled "A Wall of Hope and Joy" was held at 'Vismaya' Rangoli Art Gallery, Metro Station at M.G Road, Bangalore. The exhibition was inaugurated by representatives of Akshaya Patra, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) and professionals from both photography and film fraternity.


The Akshaya Patra photo exhibition was well received by the visitors and received more than 1000 footfalls. The exhibition included the 40 best photographs from over 700 entries from the 'Click A Smile' contest organised by the non-profit organisation in Bangalore. The display of photographs included captures of children, kitchen operations and school visits. Professionals from different backgrounds visited the Akshaya Patra photo exhibition and appreciated the display. A Ravindra, Former Chief Secretary to the Government of Karnataka said, "This is an excellent exhibit. The photographs reflect children in their simplicity and joy."

This Bangalore Children Charity is involved in implementing the mid-day meal programme in Government schools across India. Presently, this non-profit organisation in Bangalore is also operating the mid-day meal programme in 20 locations across nine states namely: Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Odisha, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. This Bangalore Children Charity provides mid-day meal to 1.3 million children every day in more than 10,000 Government schools.
