Akshaya Patra kitchen visited by Union Minister of State



Recent NGO news from The Akshaya Patra Foundation has the Foundation being visited by Vishnu Deo Sai, Union Minister of State (Steel, Mines, Labour & Employment). Sai visited the Akshaya Patra kitchen in Rourkela, Odisha in the company of Rourkela Steel Plant representatives namely G.S. Prasad, CEO; P.K Pradhan, GM-TA & CSR and Dhirendra Mishra, AGM-CSR.

The Rourkela kitchen of Akshaya Patra is exemplary of Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. This Akshaya Patra kitchen was constructed with the support of Steel Authority of India and Rourkela Steel Plant on the grounds of CSR association. It is a highly mechanised centralised kitchen unit feeding 40,827 children across 433 Government schools in and around Rourkela.

Vishnu Deo Sai was a taken for a kitchen tour by the Akshaya Patra kitchen representative and he was impressed by the operation process that was followed in preparing the mid-day meals. He congratulated the sincere and meticulous effort of the Foundation in providing hygienically prepared nutritious and tasty food to the children. Wishing the best of best, Sai also conveyed Akshaya Patra to grow even more in the future.
